PixelShrink Privacy Policy
In short: PixelShrink processes the photos and requirement text you choose on your device. It has no account, advertising SDK, or developer-operated analytics service. Google ML Kit may send limited technical and usage metrics to Google, but does not send your photo or recognized-text content.
1. Who we are
PixelShrink (package com.kastovia.pixelshrink) is provided by Kastovia Holdings LLC, Georgia, city Tbilisi, Lochini 3, apt 5, 0100. For privacy questions, email contact@kastovia.com.
2. Information PixelShrink accesses
PixelShrink accesses only the images, requirement screenshots, text, and output folders you deliberately select or share with the app. This may include photo pixels, dimensions, file size, filename, format, and EXIF metadata such as camera details, date, and location. The app uses this information to preview, resize, crop, compress, verify, save, and share the outputs you request.
Optional face-aware crop uses face detection to find a useful crop focus. It is not facial recognition: PixelShrink does not identify people or create or retain biometric templates. Requirement Lens reads text from a selected screenshot or pasted message to propose image dimensions, file-size limits, format, DPI, and background instructions.
3. On-device image and text processing
Photo resizing, compression, EXIF handling, face detection, and text recognition run on the device. PixelShrink does not upload photo pixels, recognized text, face images, or generated outputs to Kastovia or Google. The Android app does not declare the INTERNET permission or broad photo-library permission.
4. Google ML Kit diagnostics
PixelShrink uses the bundled Google ML Kit face-detection and text-recognition SDKs. Google states that ML Kit may collect limited device and application information, a per-installation identifier, performance metrics, API configuration, feature input/output sizes, feature versions, event types, and error codes for diagnostics and usage analytics. Google states that this metrics data is encrypted in transit and is not shared with third parties. ML Kit does not send the image, video, text input, or resulting content to Google servers.
See Google’s ML Kit Android data disclosure, ML Kit terms and privacy information, and Google Privacy Policy.
5. Google Play purchases
The optional PixelShrink Pro unlock is a one-time purchase processed by Google Play. PixelShrink receives product and purchase-state information needed to unlock or restore Pro and stores a local entitlement flag. Kastovia does not receive your payment-card details, and PixelShrink does not send purchase information to a Kastovia server. Google handles the transaction under the Google Privacy Policy and applicable Google Play terms.
6. Local files, settings, and retention
- Every output is a new file saved in
Pictures/PixelShrinkor a folder you select. Originals are not overwritten. - App settings, favorites, recent presets, saved workflows, and the onboarding state remain in app storage until changed, app data is cleared, or the app is uninstalled.
- Small batch-request and completion-detail files remain in app-private storage. Temporary bitmap files are removed after processing or may be cleared by Android.
- Batch files, reports, and the cached Pro entitlement are excluded from Android cloud backup and device transfer. Other non-photo settings may be included if Android backup or device transfer is enabled for your Google account.
- Clearing PixelShrink’s app data or uninstalling the app removes its local settings and private files. Images already saved outside app-private storage remain under your control and must be deleted with your gallery or file manager.
7. User-directed sharing and cloud folders
If you share a finished image to another app or select a folder backed by a cloud-storage provider, Android sends or stores that file only at your direction. The receiving app or storage provider then handles the file under its own terms and privacy policy.
8. Security and data sharing
PixelShrink uses Android’s system pickers and scoped URI grants instead of broad storage access. Kastovia does not sell personal information. PixelShrink does not share photo or recognized-text content with Kastovia, advertisers, data brokers, or analytics providers. Limited ML Kit metrics and Google Play transaction processing are handled by Google as described above.
9. Accounts and deletion requests
PixelShrink does not create or manage user accounts and Kastovia operates no PixelShrink user-data server. There is therefore no online account or cloud profile to delete. You can delete local app data through Android settings and delete exported files through your gallery or file manager. Contact us if you have a privacy question or believe you provided information to Kastovia outside the app.
10. Changes
We may update this policy when PixelShrink’s features, SDKs, or legal obligations change. The revised policy will show a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will be reflected in the app and Google Play disclosures as appropriate.
